The Buddhists believe strongly in the law of Cause and Effect. Or like what the above heading reads, what comes around goes around. They say, if you plant apple seeds, so shall you obtain apple trees.
I've known this guy who was very upset with his former employer for being a real loser and a jerk.
This is what he said," He asked me to help him with an ailing company of his. He claimed that he tried his best for the past 18 months to steer that company of his out of the red and humbly admitted that he didn't know what else to do anymore".
Accepting this 'challenge' means he would be promoted to a managerial level. He was with this company for more than a 10 years, therefore, its due time for a promotion anyway.
So what did he get for agreeing to crossover to his former boss' ailing company? Longer working hours, having to work on Sundays, heavy responsibilities, accountable for every s**t that happen. And oh, no pay rise! Not even a cent!
Ah well, said my friend, he would just have to work extra hard to proof that he was in every way capable of leading that place out of the blues and start earning profits. So that the jerk of a boss would recognize his efforts and abilities and reward him with better perks and salary in the near future.
The boss was kind enough to warn him of a co-worker who was ambitious of the manager's position and may create some trouble. Later, the same boss who issued this warning was the very one who listened to all sorts of rumors from THAT said co-worker. How was that? Is he a loser or what?
As if that was not enough, my friend was not warned that there would be debtors lurking around, and harassed over the phone to chase for their long long outstanding debts. My friend mentioned to his boss a few times that he was not able to handle the debtors and that he found them overwhelming. And the boss' actions? This loser told the debtors who called him to call my friend instead, stating that he (My friend) was the new manager there, and that he (My friend) would be the one who will issue payment to them, the debtors. So, your guess is as good as mine, they the debtors harassed my friend even more, hurling abuses saying that the boss told them my friend would be issuing them checks for all the outstanding debts owed to them. So, why wasn't he doing so? He can't take the money to his grave...
Often, the company would have insufficient fund for salaries. Salary days would be a nightmare for my friend as his boss would insist he come out with the money to "pay your people". Yeah, the thick-skinned loser referred to his own staff and workers as my friend's "people". "If you have no money to pay your people, then just borrow them back!" How's that? What boss was that?
A few months into this new position, my poor friend began to grow depressed and devastated. We (My other friends and I) as friends, started to look for jobs for him.
So, what type of business was his boss involved in? Plant nursery and landscaping. Other people I know of, who was and still is in this industry made a lot of money. Within a short time span. In fact now, they are rich. Very rich. How come this place in the contrary, lose money???
And the location of this place is in prime area. There's no excuse not to make money. But wait...there is! The boss! He is the real culprit.
My dear visitors, do you think a boss of such quality will be successful and rich? Seriously speaking, I wonder how such people could become businessman in the first place. Do they qualify? No, look at the results? They are in the verge of bankruptcy. Having a clearance sale, I heard. But...despite having a clearance sales, there are not much customers. The place look empty and isolated. Void of visitors and customers.
Ahh......What Comes Around Goes Around...
Note: My friend started his new career elsewhere and is doing fine despite a slow economy. He's a fine gentleman and I'll always wish him the best in his future endeavors. He has a bright future ahead of him.

My regrets to your friend :( I hope that your friend gets some sort of compensation for all the hard work he's had to go through.
PS, thanks for all the drops.
hi! good thing your friend got out of that situation, that is horrible, anyway thanks for dropping by..hope you can come back again..:D
There are so many this type of lousy stupid bosses out there! Really hate them and sometimes wonder how can they survive this long...really hate it when think of it. In corporates, those CEO sometimes are blind and deaf. They upgrade those idiots which only talk and don't do work. Maybe really no need to work so hard and just talk more and praise your boss more everyday will lift you higher. sigh...
your friend should had set his foot of, earlier.. but that was his call anyway, good for him to tried it out.
for me, myself just believe that "s**t happens"
Ah, in life, we fall and learn from that experience. He's doing fine now.
Its bad luck to the person who brought his previous boss to the business world. I heard his previous boss lose a lot of money for his big boss who brought him to the business world.
